Waterstones / Sterling Books book haul.

At the beginning of June I went to Waterstones and Sterling Books with one of my best friends and of course we both bought some books.

Let's take a look at what I got:

May - June Book Haul

Long time no see :-)

My Summer break has started so I should have more time to blog!

I would like to start with my May and June book haul:

I ordered these books from bol.com in the month of May:

* A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray

* Daimon - the prequel to Half Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I got Half Blood from Waterstones but I thought it would be best to have the prequel at hand :-)

* A Court of Thorns And Roses by Sarah J. Maas

* Nowhere But Here by Katie McGarry

* P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han

These last three were my most anticipated Spring releases and I've read them already :-)

I got this next one from kobobooks.com

Since Cora Carmack is one my auto-buy authors, I pre-ordered this one so I could read it as soon as it came out :-)

In June I went to Waterstones again and I got some more books:

I read 'Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen' a couple of years ago in Dutch and I really liked them, so when I saw that there was a prequel I had to get it.

January - February book haul

During the months of January and February I bought 10 books.

Five of them I ordered at bol.com because for me that's the easiest way to order books.

The other day I went to Waterstones Brussels with one of my best friends and I bought five more books. I know I said I wanted to buy less books this year and knock off some books of my TBR list, but in my defense: my friend bought more books than me :-)

   

Amy & Roger's Epic Detour - Second Chance summer

I haven't read any books by Morgan Matson yet, so I'm curious to see what her writing is like. I wanted to get 'Amy & Roger's Epic Detour' with the pink cover to match 'Second Chance summer' but this was the only one they had.

Noughts & Crosses

I got this one solely because I've heard Megan Olivier raving about it quite a few times and it's one of her favourite books. Maybe Bre Faucheux and I will do a buddy-read for this book.

I had a really great time at Waterstones, I love browsing through books and bookshops. Because Waterstones is one of the few English bookstores in Belgium I don't go there very often so I always cherish the time I get to spend there. I find ordering books online very easy, but going to a bookshop is just a whole different experience!

London Book Haul

Last month I went to London and of course I had to buy some books.

I bought a total of 13 books - 7 for myself and 5 for my boyfriend. I think 13 is an okay number :-) To be honest, I would've bought more, but on the last day there wasn't enough time left to go to Waterstones at Piccadilly Circus. Ah well, I'll just have to visit that one next time ;-)  

I'll start with the 5 books I bought for my boyfriend:

The Strange Case of Origami Yoda (Origami Yoda #1)

The Secret of the Fortune Wookiee (Origami Yoda #3) (He already owned #2)

The Surprise Attack of Jabba the Puppett (Origami Yoda #4)

Princess Labelmaker to the Rescue (Origami Yoda #5)

Emperor Pickletine Rides the Bus (Origami Yoda #6)  All written by Tom Angleberger.

 

My boyfriend doesn't read books that often, but these books really appealed to him. He had already bought the second volume at Boekenfestijn. To be fair, he did also read the first 4 Harry Potter books, but the 5th one is too big to take with him to work ;-)

And now on to my own shiny new books :-)

Cinder, Scarlet and Cress - by Marissa Meyer. I have already read them on my e-reader - see My favourite book of 2014 - but because Fairest is coming out on Jan. 27th and the final book Winter will be released in November I wanted to own the physical copies.

 

My True Love Gave To Me - by different authorswhich I'm still reading.
Let it snow - by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle.
To all the boys I've loved before - by Jenny Han. I'm curious about this one, because I've never read a Jenny Han book before. (Besides of course the short story in My True Love Gave To Me.

 

Weird things customers say in bookshops  - by Jen Campbell. This looked so funny - and perhaps frustrating at the same time - I just had to pick it up. Unfortunately I couldn't get my hands on the second on yet, but I'm working on that ;-)

 

I bought all these books at Waterstones Oxford Street and Covent Garden.

The last book I bought, I got at an Oxfam Charity Bookshop and it is Firelight by Sophie Jordan. I don't really know what its about except that it has to do with dragons. :-/ I just found out on Goodreads that this is actually the first book in a trilogy.
