Fall Book Tag.

Today I want to do a tag - I haven't done one in ages - that's appropriate to the season: the Fall Book tag.

I wasn't tagged by anyone, but I saw this tag on the thriceread blog.

Fire & Flood by Victoria Scott. I've had this on my TBR for a while now, maybe I should pick it up now that it's fall?

WHAT BOOK GIVES YOU THE WARM FUZZIES?

For this I'm going with Eleanor & Park and Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell and Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson. Even though Eleanor & Park broke my heart, it still gave me the warm fuzzies as well.

#4 COOL CRISP AIR: WHAT'S THE COOLEST CHARACTER YOU’D WANT TO TRADE PLACES WITH?

Inej. I recently finished Six of Crows and Inej is one of the coolest characters I read about this year. I can't wait for my order of Crooked Kingdom to arrive.

#5 HOT APPLE CIDER: WHAT UNDER HYPED BOOK DO YOU WANT TO SEE BECOME THE NEXT BIG AND HOTTEST THING?

I'm not sure if these series are actually under hyped, but I haven't heard much about them on BookTube or Instagram.
His Fair Assassin's by Robin LaFevers. The Queen of the Tearling trilogy might not be under hyped, but a lot of people don't like this trilogy.

#6 COAT, SCARVES AND MITTENS: THE WEATHER HAS TURNED COLD & ITS TIME TO COVER UP.

WHAT'S THE MOST EMBARRASSING BOOK COVER YOU OWN THAT YOU LIKE TO KEEP COVERED UP IN PUBLIC?

Any of the NA books that I have. That's the reason I only read them on my e-reader :-)

#7 PUMPKIN SPICE: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE FALL TIME COMFORT FOOD/DRINK?

I love eating chocolate and during the fall I really enjoy drinking hot chocolate. Who am I kidding, I love drinking hot chocolate all year 'round :-)

Bookish DIY-project.

Today I felt a bit creative and decided to turn a plain red dress into a bookrelated dress.

Last week I went to Veritas, which is a Belgian shop that sells socks, stockings, accessories and DIY things to pimp your clothes. While browsing for stockings I came across some 'iron on patches' from Alice in Wonderland: Alice and the White Rabbit.

Since I'm a big fan of Alice in Wonderland, I immediately bought a few patches to pimp one of my dresses. Today I finally got around to using the patches and I really liked the result.

1. The plain dress and the 'corresponding' book :-)

2. The patches

3. Positioning the patches

4. Cover the patches with a cotton cloth

5. Place the flat-iron over the patch for about 25 seconds

6. Iron the back of the - in this case - dress where the patch is situated

(Again, about 25 seconds)

7. Admire the result :-)

I might buy some more patches to add to the dress, because I think it would be cool to make a 'White' rabbit border :-)

20 books I want to read in 2016 - Update #2

Fall is finally here and since we're in the final months of 2016 I thought it was time for another update on my '20 books I want to read in 2016' TBR.

These are the unread books on that list:

* A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin
* The Lies of Locke Lamore by Scott Lynch

* A book by Trudi Canavan
* Elfstones of Shannara by Terry Brooks
* These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Megan Spooner

I didn't take into account the books that are on this list that I don't own yet, since I'm not sure I'm going to buy them any time soon.

There is one thing I've learned: I'm not going to do TBR's anymore, because I never stick with them anyway. It's like as soon as I put a book on a TBR list, I don't feel like reading it anymore... :-s

September 2016 - wrap-up.

September is over, so it's time for my wrap-up.

The first book I finished in September was Legend by Marie Lu.

I started reading this after doing the 'Try a chapter tag' and I ended up really enjoying it. I really liked June as a main character, she's a really badass female character.

Next, I finished listening to Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

I don't think this needs any more explanation.

The third book I finished was Fables Volume 2: Animal Farm.

 

This graphic novel series continues to amaze and fascinate me.

Then I reread Saga Volume 1 and 2 and read Volume 3.

 

 

This is another graphic novel series I'm really enjoying. Unfortunately, I don't own the rest yet :-(

I started reading Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo and I'm really enjoying it, I'm hoping to finish it in October.

Friday Reads #7 - September 23.

Hi booklovers

First, let me give you a little summary of what I read this week:

- I finished Saga Volume 1 and Volume 2. Today I started Volume 3. I really enjoyed rereading the first two volumes. I had forgotten how much I liked the art work. I'm curious to see if I'll like the third volume just as much.

- I'm slowly making my way through Six of Crows. I read about 40 pages.

- I listened to about three hours of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

During the upcoming weekend and week I would like to:

- finish Saga Volume 3. Although I want it to last a while, I know I will fly through it. But I don't own the next volume yet, so yeah...

- hopefully make a big dent in Six of Crows. I already know I won't finish it before Crooked Kingdom comes out, but oh well, I'm really enjoying it so far.

- finish listening to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I'm not really sure which one of my audiobooks I would like to pick up next: I have Prince of Thorns by Mark Lawrence, The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks, The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson and The Lies of Locke Lamore by Scott Lynch. I also have these books in physical form, so I want to combine reading and listening to them. Any suggestions on what I should start reading first?

Top 10 Tuesday #4 - September 21

Since this is a freebie I wanted to share my top 10 favourite Sabaton songs.

Sabaton is a Swedish powermetal band I absolutely love.

I've seen them perform live a couple of times already and it's always been great fun. One of the things I really like about Sabaton (and other metal bands) is that there songs more often than not tell a story. Sabaton's songs usually tell the story of a war or an epic battle. Living in Belgium, a country that's been affected by both world wars, this is something that appeals to me very much.

So without further ado, I present to you my top 10 favourite Sabaton songs:

Friday Reads #6 - September 16.

I know it's been a while, but today I want to do another Friday Reads.

Since the beginning of September I've started teaching again, which means I'm commuting again as well. That also means I'm going back to reading more on my e-reader or picking up graphic novels.

I've already read Legend by Marie Lu (both as an e-book and a physical copy) and I really enjoyed it. I also finished listening to Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. This is wonderful, Stephen Fry does such a great job at narrating the story.

This week I started and finished Volume 2 of Fables (Animal Farm). I'm really enjoying this graphic novel series and I really want to continue with it. I've also started listening to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I'm currently reading the physical copy of Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it before Crooked Kingdom comes out. On the train today I started rereading Saga Volume 1.
I'll be continuing Six of Crows this weekend and the upcoming week. I'm hoping to finish Saga Volume 1 and also start Volume 2 so I can soon move on to Volume 3.
